What is an Escape Room?

An escape room is an immersive gaming experience in which the players will find clues, solve riddles and complete puzzles to ultimately facilitate their escape!

How many players are allowed in the room together?

The maximum number of players is based on the size and amount of puzzles that are in the room to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable experience. However, you are welcome to split your team into two or more teams and compete for bragging rights!

How long is it going to take?

The entire experience will last about 1.5 hours, but the game will last no longer than an hour.
For late parties, any time over 10 minutes after the original start time will be deducted from the game play so as to not affect later reservations.

Should I bring anything with me?

Nothing except your brain and basic knowledge will be needed to solve the puzzles.
All that you need is yourself and your teammates!

Will I really be locked in?

The door that you enter will always be accessible to leave out of in case of an emergency, phone call or a restroom break. This escape will not win the game for you and your team.

Is it scary?

Although some scenarios might be spooky in nature, our rooms are not designed to be scary.
The escape room experience is not a haunted house, the rooms are designed to be fun, problem-solving experiences, following a theme to reach a goal together.

Will I be allowed to take pictures/videos while in the room?

We do not allow any photos or videos while in the room to protect the secrecy of the puzzles and game for future players. There is an area in each room that serves as an “out-of-play zone” for all of your belongings while playing the game.

What happens if I don’t solve any puzzles?

A game master will be your guide through the experience and will be happy to give you a push in the right direction should you get stuck on any of the puzzles. We do not have any clue limits or rules of time deductions for clues requested.

Are my tickets refundable?

The tickets to this experience are non-refundable. Within 72 hours we will be happy to rebook you to a new date and time that works for the participants in your group. Additionally, we are happy to pre-book your group but will require an $60 non-refundable deposit to reserve your booking on the specific date and time.

Am I allowed to book a corporate event outside of normal business hours?

To book a large event or any event outside of our normal business hours, please send requests to the contact form below. Include contact name/phone number/email address and booking date/time/number of participants and anything additional that we should know.

Am I allowed to just walk in or do I have to book a reservation?

We recommend booking a reservation ahead of time to ensure the time and desired room is available.

Are there bathrooms?

There are bathrooms, which are accessible before, during and after the game. It is also one of the coolest pieces of artwork at Puzzle Room Pittsburgh hand painted by one of the owners!

How soon in advance do I need to book?

We suggest sooner rather than later to ensure that the booking will be available. However, teams can book on the day of the reservation and although walk-ins are not recommended, with an available opening, are permitted.
